On Instagram, I follow a few accounts for inspiration and one day I saw that one of the accounts I follow @havencrochetdesigns was looking for testers! Having made hot pads before, I immediately wanted in!

While doing this project as a tester, there were many things in the pattern instructions that I didn’t know.

  1. Trivet: hot pad, potholder
  2. Surface Crochet: decorating crocheted work
  3. Invisible Join: slip stitch, stop with 1 stitch left, cut 3″ length
Insert hook into both loops of starting stitch
    Pull yarn through
Insert hook into top loop of ending stitch, pull through, tie ends in back with knots
  4. Worsted Weight: #4 weight yarn, slightly thicker than DK, thinner than bulky yarn, aka medium weight
  5. Blocking
  6. Gauge: 4″ x 4″ = 13.5 sc x 17 rows = 9″ x 9″ after blocking

Yarn used: Scheepjes Cahlista

Final size should be 8″ x 8″, ended up being 7.5″ W x 8″ H

Testing due Nov 28

Pattern released Nov 30
